Motherhood Transitions Mentor

Tara is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and therapist. With Emma Santizo, she is the co-founder of their private practice called, Transitions in Motherhood and is a Perinatal Educator for Long Beach Memorial Hospital. Her areas of focus include: Depression, Anxiety, Issues of loss and grief, Stress, Relationship issues, Perinatal Mood Disorders (including the Baby Blues and Postpartum Depression). Tara is passionate about the importance of securing an early bond/attachment between mother/caregiver and baby through caring for mother. She treats individuals, couples, children, adolescents, and families.

Tara graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology and Spanish. She received her Master’s in Social Work from California State University of Long Beach (Multi-cultural concentration in children youth and families) and is licensed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences.

The journey through parenthood is full of surprises that are beautiful and challenging. Tara knows that support is essential through it all, especially knowing that you are not alone.
